Don't Panic

If the pandemic, fuel crisis, and baby formula shortage taught me one thing; if there's just a whisper of a shortage, people will hoard.  Start preparing.

Ongoing supply chain pressures amid strong consumer demand make for a scary combination as Hershey warns of a Halloween candy shortage.

Of course Hershey would "warn" of a candy shortage.  Way to boost sales, Hershey.

SPAM!

Does anyone else get spam trying to sell you Private Jet Cards?  It's like playing Whack-a-Mole with my Inbox.  I block and delete the email, only to get another "offer" for a special deal from a new joker.  How did I get on this list?  Who thinks I would voluntarily get on a plane more than once a year?  Why do they think I live extravagantly?  I've had the same underwear for 10 years!

Summer Layers?

Here's another email I received.  Granted, I'm a fan of Eddie Bauer but this made me laugh.  Summer layers?  Currently on the Outer Banks the temperature ranges from a low of around 80 to a high of 95 (not including the heat index).  The way I see it, anything more than one layer will get you a trip to the E.R.  I realize that in places away from the shore the temperature drops more significantly at night, but this is the life I live.

Should We Be Concerned?

My feeling is yes.  We often see soundside beaches closed due to poor water quality, but the sounds don't have tides to flush things out (not trying to be funny).  Our ocean waters are typically clean.  I hope this isn't a trend.
