Movie I'm Watching

The Hero, 2017
The story is a little depressing about a washed-up actor confronting his mortality, but the cast is great and the acting is excellent. I give it a B+.

Book I'm Reading
Remarkable Women of the Outer Banks, by Hannah Bunn-West
Bunn does a great job creating vignettes for several, amazing, local women.

Best Beach Destinations in the Shoulder Season
I'm a little disappointed that the Outer Banks is not on this list. I love this place in September and October. Yes, we're having a bit of a wet spell at the moment, but every summer has its crappy week or two. Typically, September can be 75-85 degrees and the water will be around 80 degrees (currently 89!). Add to that less traffic and shorter wait times for dining and you have an amazing experience.

Warning: Strong El Nino This Winter and Early Spring
"The combination of cooler weather and more frequent precipitation may also increase the chances for wintry precipitation like freezing rain, sleet and snow to fall in the South." I have to admit, the last two years have been extremely mild. It's only a matter of time before things start to average out.

Get Ready
It's getting to be that time of year to think about boat winterization.  Contact me, the OBX Boat Butler, when you're ready to shut it down.  Don't wait until the last minute.  See above.  It's going to get crappy.

Have a Great Weekend,
