Shooting Victim Climbs On To Hood Of School Bus

I have so many questions.  I know some of us aren't "morning people", but what could anger a person so much that shooting someone at 7:40am is the solution?  Use your words!  Next, you're a victim and running out to the street and climbing on to the hood of a school bus is your "safe place"? Kudos to the bus driver recognizing the victim as perhaps being bat-sh!t crazy and keeping the door closed.

The article questions whether or not the victim climbed on to the bus while it was moving.  I drive buses.  It's nearly impossible to climb on to the hood when it's stationary.  To speculate if the bus was moving makes for an amusing mental image.

THINGS TO DO

6/1/24, Dare Days

This family event has been a staple for decades.

6/19/24, Juneteenth

This local man's story is amazing to me and I think it's great he comes home to give a free performance for the community.

The 2020 Prom They Never Had

As a parent of a 2020 high school grad, I think this was a great idea.

Memorial Weekend

This holiday is always an interesting one on the Outer Banks. It's the unofficial start to summer and, ready or not, the tourists will fill the roads with cars and campers, hoping to enjoy some summer weather. The thing about Memorial Weekend is that the weather is a total crap shoot. Not quite "real" summer, it's not unusual to experience a little bit of everything within three days. This year may be no exception. Friday, 100% chance of rain. Saturday, mostly cloudy and 74. Sunday, partly cloudy and 76. Monday, PM thunderstorms and 81.

Having spent 25 consecutive Memorial Weekends on the Outer Banks I have no need to sit around and wait for good weather.  I will be in Philadelphia to watch the NCAA lacrosse championships. My wife decided (because we're sports junkies) we should go there and celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The longer I'm married to her the smarter I look.  Unfortunately, she cannot say the same.
