Ready for an Outer Banks Weekend, 5/19/23

This spring I was coaching a great group of kids on our OBX Lacrosse youth team and during one of our workouts I noticed two girls were singing Copacabana (At the Copa). It took a second but it dawned on me that this song is WAY outside their era (1978!). I guess what's old is new, again.
A couple days later I pulled the song up on Spotify because, I have to admit, it's a catchy tune. We have an old, open-air Bronco and I'm listening to Barry Manilow blaring on the bluetooth speaker all the way until I turn in to the Wal-Mart parking lot when I realize I need to hit "Pause" or somebody might take away my "Man Card". That was a close one.

Memorial Day Weekend Travel
The worst time to be on the roads for the holiday weekend? Friday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Diaz said. Coming back, Monday between noon and 3 p.m. will be the worst time on the roads.
Bucket List Bobcat
If you haven't heard, Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge is an amazing place to spot wildlife. I still haven't seen a bobcat on the Outer Banks which means I need to spend more time over there.

Consumer Reports: Best Sunscreen
I look at this list annually and it's interesting to see some brands move around in ranking, but Coppertone Water Babies has consistently ranked at the top for several years and it's easily accessible in local stores.
As an aside, I think it's a little funny that one of the poorest ranking sunscreens is made for kids. If you use it on your child will someone call social services and take your kids away?
Consumer Reports: Best Grills
Consumer Reports loves Weber Grills. I think they're too expensive so I scan the list and see which makes they recommend that are in my price range. Fortunately, Even Embers (Tractor Supply) and NexGrill (Home Depot) are more affordable and can be purchased nearby.
