Need to Bring

Our youngest was accepted to a college and this institution is already sending information on what to bring in the fall. I scanned the list not because I think there's anything important (there isn't), but I was curious to see what the school thought was important. Under the category, "What you need to bring:" the oddest item appeared on the list. First, when I see "What you need to bring:", I begin to wonder if there will be a room inspection. Will I receive a phone call from a college administrator informing me my son is about to be expelled unless he procures one of these must-have items? Now I can't sleep.

Said item is.... a sewing kit. Mind you, they don't mention to send instructions along with the sewing kit. Maybe they figure a young man will just Google the instructions. They obviously don't know my son very well.  If I put a sewing kit in front of my son he would probably download an app that would tell him what it was. On the bright side, if there were a clothing "emergency" that required a sewing kit I'm pretty sure my son would be smart enough to find another piece of clothing and he could do that 100x faster than repairing busted seam with a sewing kit. We raised him to be flexible and resourceful. Not to be a seamstress.

If I buy my son a sewing kit it will be staying home with me because anything that needs sewing will come back home for repairs....if it doesn't find the bottom of a trash can first.

Now you all know what to get my son for a graduation gift.

The Best Gas Can
I use gas cans quite frequently. Lawn mowers, chain saws, weed eaters, boats, whatever. There's always something to fuel up. But I can never seem to pour fuel without spilling it all over the place. In an effort to prevent these spills I have bought gadget nozzles or different cans. Next thing I know I have a collection of crap gas cans all having the same symptom.

Until now. The VP Racing gas cans are the best. I was in a motorcycle shop when I first saw them. I asked the guy behind the counter if they were any good and he said that's all they use when fueling up their dirt bikes. Those are guys are pretty hard core so that was good enough for me. Best money I ever spent on fueling. Solid construction, strong materials, easy pouring, and great capacity. Small print: Should you use this link to purchase anything from Amazon I may receive a small commission.
