KC and the Sunshine Band is coming to Festival Park??!!

Well done, VUSIC.

This is both intriguing and scary. Intriguing to see what the 2024 Casey looks like and scary that his performance could be a complete bomb. First impression, I don’t think they should perform outdoors. They’re not an outdoors kind of band. They’re a late-night, indoor band with a disco light show.

All that and I'm skeptical KC and the Sunshine Band can reproduce this version of I’m Your Boogie Man. This is the best.

Beach Still Closed

The pollution at the beach in Buxton gets a little more attention. It's been a problem longer than you might imagine.

Peter King Retires

I was listening to a podcast on the dreadful state of our attention span. Or something like that. My brain checked out for a few minutes. The speakers used reading as an example. As in, we only read something with an excessively indelicate headline or topic. In the end, common decency loses out.

I argue that a large portion of our population (especially the young) are habitually consuming poorly written "posts" and memes. To say we use social media to catch up on our daily events and news means we are missing out on in-depth articles written by seasoned professionals who are experts at their craft. Most of what I see online is complete crap. With the exception of those professionals who are sharing their gift online, the majority of internet writing is unreadable.

With the retirement of Peter King four days ago the internet becomes a little less readable. For years he has posted a weekly column called Monday Morning Quarterback. His articles were insightful, funny, diverse, and addictive. I confess that I have stolen a few of his ideas like; The Sign the Apocalypse is Upon Us, Factoid That May Interest Only Me, and What I'm Drinking.

That being said, he earned the break.

Spring Is Here (more or less)

This is the perfect time to drop your bike off at a shop for an annual tune-up. The shops are usually slow this time of year and they'll be able to turn your bike around fairly quickly. Unlike in-season when you might be lucky to see your bike in a month.

Spring Break!

Although the ocean will most likely be intolerably cold, there's still plenty to do here if you want to get out of Dodge.
