Things To Do

Northeast North Carolina has amazing peaches.  Why not celebrate?

Elmo Has A Swear Jar?

Ernie Bowden

You may recall I mentioned Ernie Bowden a few months ago.  Unfortunately, he passed away July 27.  Fortunately, Clark Twiddy was able to interview and publish a book from Ernie's perspective on how Currituck County used to be.  Memories of the Currituck Outer Banks: As Told by Ernie Bowden.

Purple Martins on the Old Manns Harbor Bridge

I just became aware of this a few years ago.  Apparently the purple martins have become so popular that people go out on boats at dusk to watch them return to their nests.

Moment of Silence

First, Meat Loaf dies.  Now this.  2022 is not going down as a banner year.  I used to live off of these during the summer.

Lowered Speed Limit

Rt. 158 in Currituck County sees more than its fair-share of auto accidents.  In response, NCDOT has lowered the speed limit.

Weekend Weather

Friday        93, Mix sun/clouds, Precip. 10%, Winds SW 12-20
Saturday   82, Cloudy, Stray shower, Precip. 25%, Winds W, then N 10
Sunday     83, Cloudy, Early showers, Precip. 35%, Winds E/NE 8-12

Have a great weekend.
