Bring It On
I was informed via email that scammers are targeting parents of students from my son's college telling the parents their child is in jail and if immediate payment isn’t received the child will be shipped to the regional jail. I hope the scammers call me. They have no idea who they’re dealing with.
- Maybe my son deserves it and needs to learn a lesson.
- Could there be a better place to study, undistracted, with no cell phone or TV?
- If he had so much fun that he got arrested it serves him right for not asking me if I wanted to join him.
- How bad can it be to get three, free meals a day and a place to sleep?
- Without our son home, my wife and I have the house nice and clean. Why would we want to ruin that?

You’ve got to admire a police department with a sense of humor.
The Kitty Hawk Police Department reports that a 7-Eleven employee found a bag of cocaine in their parking lot.

There's a new traffic light going in at Lake Drive in Kill Devil Hills.
Another light in French Fry Alley. Great. Let’s redirect the “bypass” to the Beach Road to avoid this area.

Feeding An Army
When selecting snacks for the First Flight HS boys lacrosse team, it's crucial to choose options that can endure the rigors of bus travel. Unfortunately, bananas don't make the cut, as they often end up bruised and unappealing by the end of the day. On the other hand, California-grown Minneola Tangelos have proven to be an excellent choice for long journeys. Not only do they travel well, but they've also become a favorite among the players. Initially unfamiliar with tangelos, the team members have now fully embraced the excellent flavor of this fruit.
